Recently, I was in charge of decorations for a 70th birthday party. The birthday girl was an avid reader, involved in her church, was a former teacher, and favored Victorian décor. OK, I can create something for the tables and such. I was happy to contribute a little creativity to the event.
My journey began with a visit to all the antique stores in my community, where I handpicked multiple old Bibles and other inspirational/Christian books. Each book was chosen carefully, knowing it would contribute to the unique centerpieces I was about to create.
With the books at hand, I began the creative process. I stacked the Bibles and other books, using a glue gun to secure them. The design was adaptable, allowing me to create centerpieces of varying heights, each one a unique expression of creativity.
From there, I attached a few flowers and greenery. For an additional touch, I placed a tiny place card holder and inserted the matching invitation I had also designed (not shown). Toward the end of the celebration, I raffled each one of the centerpieces to attendees.
